Library Ethnography: Notes/Recommendations for Guilford College

User Experience is a particular area of interest for me in LIS research. I learned the basic theories and models of information behavior and the methodology of ethnography in my Information Use & Users class in spring 2012, and I worked on an independent study in library ethnography with Dr. Hersberger in fall 2012.

For the independent study, I did regular ethnographic observations at a nearby academic library, and I made recommendations for improvements in user services. I also wrote a lit review of library ethnography and interviewed a library ethnographer for an article on library ethnography that I hope to publish.

Here are the recommendations I gave to Guilford College from my library ethnography study.
